Motivational Speaker and Presenter | Entertaining keynotes that lead people and teams to realise peak performance | Facilitation/Workshops and Coaching
I can teach you how to succeed in one of the toughest businesses in the world, where less than 1% make it to the top.
Show business.
Less people climb Mount Everest than make it as a movie or stage star.
1000’s will try, from every continent, in every language, over decades sometimes.
Hugh Jackman, Lisa McCune, Tim Minchin, Frances O’Connor and Dacre Montgomery are just some of the names that have graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
It was at WAAPA that they learnt the fundamentals, the disciplines and skills.
This training is completely transferable to any industry. Creating presence, building intention and behaving with authenticity are at the core of actor training and these qualities are teachable to individuals and teams.
“I believe in inspiring people to achieve peak performance.”
More than ever modern workplaces are looking for something extra, something outside the norms. As a university professor, a successful TV / theatre director and performer I have seen the methodologies used for acting can transfer not just to the business sector but anyone wishing to improve their communication and confidence.
Acting “as if” brings about Acting “that does”.
When people act with integrity and passion incorporating clear intention, they can achieve powerful results in their work-life AND personal life
Acting before you think not thinking before you Act!
In a world where many people struggle to be themselves — learn how to celebrate your uniqueness
You need to stand out, gain presence, have a voice, learn charisma, perform at your best.
Act with integrity, shine, collaborate and connect to others.

If you have ever thought:
“There must be a way to work with difficult dudes!”
“I wish I could get my team to perform at their peak.”
“I can’t collaborate with my Crew.”
“I can’t communicate with confidence.”
“I wish I could motivate my managers.”
If you want to improve your businesses performance by:
- Motivating your workforce
- Improving communication
- Developing trust
- Resolving staff conflict?
- Hitting KPI’s
- Increasing employment engagement, productivity and resilience
Then I’m your man!
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts.
William Shakespeare
The analogy of the world being a stage and human beings the actors is not new.
Playwrights, thinkers, sociologists and anthropologists have considered this idea for centuries. More recently the thought that life is ‘theatre’ and human actions inherently ‘dramatic’ has been used in leadership studies. I propose that a dramatic approach is one where the members of an organisation enact roles, interpret and improvise scripts, work on scenes, act towards plots and use dramaturgical rhetorical styles to address, impress, influence and mystify an audience.
In recent times businesses faced with global economic uncertainty and emerging knowledge — based industries, are looking to the arts for a better understanding of creativity and innovation. I propose that leadership is like drama, where everyone has their part to play (CEO, Manager), you have a script (address to the board, message to employees), a costume (business suit) audience (shareholders, employees), style (the sort of business you work in), plot (the task at hand), emotional impact (dealing with staff) and the meaning that your audience makes of your performance (what your stakeholders think). Organisations can enjoy the benefits of thinking in more creative ways and look to dramatical models to explain human behaviour in the workplace.
